BIOGRAPHY

John Abernethy has seized life with both hands. A man of the land and the sea, he fought in Vietnam, started a successful fishing charter business and owned a horse stud in the Snowy Mountains. Famous for inventing Seabrake, the world's first 'brake for boats', he's ridden the rollercoaster of business highs and lows, enjoyed glittering success and suffered terrible personal loss.

In The Right Break, John describes his trajectory from farm boy to international businessman in his uniquely Australian voice, calling it as he sees it with true-blue Aussie humour, unflinching honesty and shrewd observation.

A proud father and grandfather, today John lives peacefully in Merrimbula, New South Wales.
